Our Stewardship

Fresh water is fundamental to all life. The Northwest Territories (NWT) has an abundance of fresh water. This water is essential to ecosystem health, and the social, cultural and economic well-being of territorial residents. Northerners rely on water and aquatic ecosystems for sustenance, recreation, and transportation.

  • Identify ongoing and emerging challenges in advancing the Strategy’s vision and goals
  • Provide recommendations to inform the next Action Plan, building on the achievements of the current one.
