Notre rôle

L’eau douce est essentielle au maintien de la vie. Les Territoires du Nord-Ouest (TNO) regorgent d’eau douce. Cette eau est essentielle à la santé de l’écosystème et au bien-être social, culturel et économique des résidents du territoire. Les Ténois dépendent de l’eau et des écosystèmes aquatiques pour leur subsistance, leurs loisirs et leur transport.

Calling all NWT youth! Do you have a project idea for water stewardship in your community?

The NWT Youth Water Stewardship and Mentorship Grant Program provides funding to youth 18 to 30 years old for projects that support the goals and vision of the NWT Water Stewardship Strategy. Youth engagement is critical to the continued success of Northern Voices, Northern Waters: The NWT Water Stewardship Strategy. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2022

12th Annual Water Stewardship Strategy Implementation Workshop

The 12th Annual NWT Water Stewardship Strategy Workshop, with sessions from the Climate Change Advisory Group and proposed Great Slave Lake Research and Monitoring Program was a great collaborative success in November! Participants gathered under the theme of Collaborating for Water, and focused on knowledge sharing to facilitate collaboration.  For more information please click here!

This website is a platform to share information and showcase initiatives related to water stewardship in the Northwest Territories. It details the achievements of the joint implementation of Northern Voices, Northern Waters: NWT Water Stewardship Strategy, in addition to providing current information about water, ecosystems, and watersheds in the NWT.

It takes roughly 5,000 litres of water to make about 500 sheets of paper.
