Description:

As part of GNWT Environment and Climate Change (ECC) actions towards Keeping NWT Water Clean within the Managing Drinking Water in the NWT: A Preventative Framework and Strategy, each community's drinking water catchment area was mapped in 2007. In 2011 these maps were updated with more current data as well as new related data, such as developments and activities from the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board and forest fire boundaries from ECC’s Forest Management Division. The community catchment maps can be accessed from the NWT Centre for Geomatics website.

With the NWT Ecosystem Classification Photo Map you can view the thousands of photographs collected as part of the NWT Ecosystem Classification program, visually documenting the NWT landscape.

  • Photos taken along the displayed flight lines are viewable by zooming in to a minimum scale of 1:1,000,000 then hovering over a photo point to pop-up the image(s) at that location. Once zoomed in, the flight lines turn off and the photo points become visible.
  • You can also generate reports of a selected photo(s) and its attributes by using the 'Create a Photo Summary Report'. Use the drawing tools to make a selection.
  • Both map viewers can be launched in a web browser.
  • The browser requires Silverlight 4.0 plug-in and minimum screen resolution of 1024x768.
