Call for Workshop Presentation and Interactive Session Proposals NOW OPEN

Do you have a topic/project you want to share at the workshop? We invite Water Partners to submit a proposal to present and/or lead an Interactive Discussion Session. 

Presentation/Session proposals should align with one or more of the following themes.

  • Advancing the NWT Water Strategy vision and goals. 
  • Informing priorities for the next NWT Water Strategy Action Plan 
  • Working together and building community and Indigenous partnerships.
  • Water-related research and monitoring in the NWT, rooted in both science and Indigenous Knowledge. 
  • Education, training and capacity building.

  • Review of proposals and confirmation of presenters will occur throughout August.

Travel Funding Assistance 

  • There is funding available to support presenters from NWT communities to travel to the workshop. This funding is limited. If you require travel funding assistance, please contact us at nwtwaterstrategy@gov.nt.ca. 

What to Expect

  • Workshop Audience: The workshop will host a diverse group of participants, representing Water Partners that are working to protect and safeguard water, across the NWT. Presenters can anticipate participants with a range of knowledge and experiences.
  • Presentation Format: Though there will be some time set aside during the workshop for the more ‘formal’ presentations, presenters are encouraged to think ‘outside-the-box’ and come up with ways to make their presentations/sessions interactive and engaging for participants.
  • Interactive Discussion Session Format: The Interactive Discussion Session will be an opportunity for participants to visit/rotate through various tables to learn about and discuss water stewardship-related topics and projects. Table leads should be prepared to lead their discussion or activity for approximately 30 minutes before a new set of participants visit their table. This rotation will most likely occur 3-4 times.
