Award Recipients

On October 29, 2024, two individuals were celebrated as “water champions” for their significant input to water stewardship in the NWT: George D Lennie and Laura Krutko.

  • George D Lennie was nominated by the Inuvik Hunters Trappers Committee Board of Directors for his contribution to water stewardship during his time working with the Water Survey of Canada for over forty years. His knowledge and experience have contributed in many ways to the vision and goals of the NWT Water Stewardship Strategy over the years.

  • We also celebrated Laura Krutko, who was nominated by the K'ahsho Got'ine Foundation for her invaluable support and mentorship for their Guardians program, as part of her role with the GNWT Community-based Water Quality Monitoring Program.
