Information Management

Water stewardship activities, including decision-making, need to be supported by accurate, current and accessible information and data. A key part of achieving this is to ensure that scientific, local and traditional water-related knowledge is accurately stored, analyzed, managed and where appropriate, shared among water partners and the public. Everyone should be able to access the results of water monitoring and research that have already been completed. In the NWT, various initiatives have been implemented in order to improve the management and accessibility of water-related monitoring information. These initiatives are outlined to the side.

These various information management initiatives address Keys to Success under the Work Together component in NWT Water Stewardship Strategy: A Plan for Action 2016-2020.
